“I’m 26 years old and have been at CT fitness for about 7 months. Prior to this I had dabbled in different types of weight training, mostly strength based, since I was about 19. 

At 25 I found myself in Charters Towers with no commercial gym to train at, working out by myself in a home gym set up and not enjoying it. CT fitness was the only commercial gym in town at the time and I had a few mates who went there. I was pretty hesitant to join as I’d heard so many negative opinions about cross-fit and I was scared to lose my strength. 

One day I just bit the bullet and went down with a mate to check it out. From the first session I was hooked on the culture, style of training and coaching. I’m always learning new types of exercises and I push myself harder then I ever have before, which has made me more athletic than ever before. 

On top of this, I eat better, drink less and train more than previously. I recommend CT fitness to everyone who shows interest and I can’t imagine I’ll ever go back to a standard gym again.”

“I had always been a very active child growing up, but as time goes by the family grows and work gets busier, as always mothers forget about them selves. 

For so long I was feeling wrong in so many ways inside and out. So as it was coming up to my 38th birthday, and I knew it was time to do something about it, I was a nervous wreak walking into Crossfit CT at that time and now there is no looking back. 

This was the beginning of a long journey I started with my CT Fitness family, who supported me each and every day I turned up. This was my opportunity to improve my self inside and out building my confidence with my new fitness crew, who gave me the motivation I needed to power on. As I watched others doing those, “dumb” pull ups and lifting the heaviest of weights, no way did I ever think I would be any where near doing what these people could do. It’s been a long frustrating journey but I never thought in a million years, I would feel as strong and happy to be where I am now 2 years on. 

Fitness is one of the reasons I head to CT Fitness every day, the great friends and family I have made is another one, “oh, the laughs we have”. CT Fitness is the place where in my mind, body and soul I feel my strongest, this place has made me a better person for my self and my family. So it’s a win, win, thank you so much CT Fitness.”

“I started at CT fitness the first week I moved to Charters. I knew absolutely no one in town and I was nervous, yet so excited to start this new fitness journey. From the minute I walked in, Tony and Kylie made me feel so welcome and I instantly knew I was in the right place.

Fast forward almost 12 months and the team at CT fitness are my family. I am the strongest and fittest I’ve ever been, mentally and physically. Every time I walk into the gym, no matter how I’ve felt before walking in those doors, I always walk out feeling on top of the world.

The coaches push me to be better and have helped me reach goals and PB’s I never thought I could achieve. They have believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.

CT fitness isn’t just an ordinary gym, it’s somewhere I can walk in and be myself, push myself and know the whole team, coaches and members, will always have my back.”

“After moving to town, one of the first things I did was research the local gyms in the area and after discovering CT Fitness I haven’t looked back!

Incorporating the CrossFit and functional movements into my training program have done wonders for my overall strength and conditioning and have reaped the rewards setting new personal bests in the process.

“When I first started CrossFit on the first week it opened, I wasn’t sure if it was something I’d be doing on a regular basis, but I was 150kg+ and I was having small health problems that could’ve gotten worse if I didn’t do anything about myself. 

I’ve lost over 40kg and still counting during my time at CT Fitness, also my strength, cardio, endurance and willpower have gone through the roof as well! 

The environment is warm and has such a loving atmosphere with great people. We all come from different walks of life but we come together and put in the hard work together, and leaving the gym tired but relieved and satisfied from our workouts.

CrossFit is more than a workout to me, it’s a lifestyle!”

“I have been exercising for the last 40+ years. I like to exercise regularly as I enjoy the benefits it brings.

Just because you are over 60, doesn’t mean you can’t exercise.

When Tony first opened CT Fitness, I went along to see if I was able to handle the Crossfit exercise program.

The staff were very helpful and supportive and there was a suitable workout for anyone of any fitness level.

Since I joined, I have been able to lift weights I previously never thought possible!

It’s the support from Tony’s awesome staff, especially Kylie, and the gym mates who push me through the reps, even when I feel like giving up. 

Some days I don’t feel like going, but I say to myself: “Get up, get dressed, and get going!” and at the end of a workout I am relieved that I made the effort.

Having been a part of CT Fitness for a couple of years now, I have always felt welcomed, encouraged and accepted. I love the style of workouts, how every movement can be scaled to suit all levels of fitness and I like how every workout is different.

The coaches are great, very understanding, approachable and are genuinely interested in everyone’s fitness goals. They are very supportive people and they aim to help everyone succeed.

Holding myself accountable for my own fitness and turning up to be part of a team is important and achievable. Consistency is key.

With life seemingly getting busier and the days getting longer, I always leave the gym with a sense of achievement and mental clarity. CT Fitness has definitely made a positive impact on my fitness journey and I highly recommend joining the CT Fitness Team.

“CT Fitness is awesome! We love coming down to Ct Fitness together and working out with everyone at the classes. 

It can be difficult for us to get a workout in as we have a very busy lifestyle, both self employed, working hard in our own businesses, have busy teenagers (which makes us even busier!) and the normal household chores. But a couple of years ago we decided we needed to make our health and fitness a priority and CT Fitness has now become an essential and much loved part of our lives. 

The coaches are our absolute favourite, always making everyone feel welcome and comfortable in the class, there really is a very supportive feeling of comradery at CT Fitness and more often than not it is actually fun! 

There is options and class times suitable for every body and every fitness level, no matter how much (or little) you can find time to work out.  We have made our class attendance a priority, and now a habit in the last 2 years and we encourage everyone to carve out regular time to work out and you will benefit in every aspect of your life.  

Just do it! Then just keep doing it, regularly, no matter what, consistently.”
